Here’s to your Health
Everyone on the campus and in the community is invited to celebrate Health Week by attending the Health Fair on Tues., Nov. 10 from 11am-2pm in the Hoosier Room and hallway of the University Center. Come check out the Wellness Fair where IU Southeast students will find a variety of services and info from the surrounding Kentuckiana community of healthcare providers and professionals.

IU Southeast will be recognizing its student, staff, and faculty veterans on Wed., Nov. 11 with a variety of veteran’s events. Chancellor Patterson-Randles has personally extended an invitation for all campus veterans to join Fort Knox Deputy Commanding General, BG Arnold Gordon –Bray, and Operation Diploma’s Stacie Hitts, for a bell ringing ceremony and a veteran’s lunch. The ceremony will be held at the Clock Plaza at 11:00am and the luncheon will be held in the Hoosier Room at 11:45am. The luncheon is for veterans and invited guests. Come learn the ins and outs about filling out the FAFSA and applying for scholarships on Tues., Nov. 10 at 12:15pm and again at 6pm in the Adult Student Center, US206. Story Time
You won’t want to miss the IU Southeast Children’s Read Aloud on Sat., Nov. 14 at 11am on the 3rd Floor Reading Gallery in the Library for children ages 3 and up. Teacher candidates will be reading age appropriate books and participating in a craft project related to their book. This event is FREE!
Omnivore’s Dilemma
Honors Program students will lead a discussion of the Common Experience book, Omnivore’s Dilemma on Tues., Nov. 10 at 2:45pm in the IU Southeast Library. You won’t want to miss this sure-to-be controversial discussion.
Quilt Show
The IU Southeast Library is sponsoring their annual quilt show. Anyone affiliated with IU Southeast may submit an entry by bringing the quilt and the entry form to the library Nov. 11 - 13. This year, visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite quilt. The winner will receive a $50 Hobby Lobby gift certificate.

Hoop – There it is!
Why not spend part your Friday evening rooting on the women‘s basketball team. The lady Grenadiers take on UVA-Wise in the second game of the tournament on Fri., Nov. 13 at 7:30pm. The first game, between Grace and the University of Northwestern Ohio tips off at 5:50pm.
Open Books
Staff, faculty, students and community members are invited to a discussion of Bohumil Hrabal’s exuberant, wise, and witty novel about recent Czech history, “I Served the King of England.” Come enjoy coffee, cookies, lemonade, and good conversation on Fri., Nov. 12 at 12pm in the Library.
Days of Glory
The Francophone Film Series will be showing the film Indigenes on Thurs., Nov. 12 at 7:30pm in UC121. This film is based upon an actual historical account of some of the many Africans who fought bravely and often died to restore the balance of power in Europe. You won’t want to miss this FREE, subtitled film. There is some violence and vulgar language.
Poet Reads
Gain A Little Knowledge about "Issues in Social Justice"
Award winning poet Taije Silverman will read at the IUS Library on Mon., Nov. 9 at 12:15pm in the 3rd Floor Reading Area. Silverman will be reading from her debut collection, Houses Are Fields, which chronicles her family’s devotion and dissolution through the death of her mother. Books will be available for sale after the reading.
